Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a joint venture of public sector undertakings under the Ministry of Power, and RajCOMP Info Services Limited (RISL), an entity under the Department of Information Technology & Communications (DOIT&C), Government of Rajasthan, have signed a landmark agreement. This collaboration aims to leverage the extensive eMitra network to promote energy efficiency and enhance public service delivery throughout the state.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Mr. Animesh Mishra – CGM (Sales & PRCC), EESL, Mr. Adesh Saxena, General Manager (Technical), EESL, Mr. Rameshwar Lal Solanki, Technical Director, Department of IT & Communication, Government of Rajasthan, Mr. Umesh Joshi, Joint Director, Department of IT & Communication, Government of Rajasthan, Mr. Kamlesh Gattani, Managing Consultant (eMitra) and Associate Director, Deloitte, underscoring a shared commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents through innovative and sustainable solutions. Mr. Aman Maherda, EESLState Head, Mr. Ajay Raj, Cluster head, EESL and Vipul Singh, Manager, EESL were also present during the signing.
Under this partnership, EESL will offer its UJALA products and services on RISL’s e-Mitra portal, enabling e-Mitra kiosks to sell these appliances to consumers. RISL will create awareness among e-Mitra kiosks about the availability of EESL services on the e-Mitra platform, facilitating the sale of UJALA products and services to consumers across Rajasthan. RISL will also promote EESL’s online marketplace, EESL Mart, by placing affiliate links and QR codes on its website, applications, and kiosks. By utilising the widespread presence and established infrastructure of the eMitra network, energy-efficient solutions such as LED lighting and efficient cooling systems will be made accessible even in the most remote corners of Rajasthan. This will reduce energy consumption, lower electricity bills, and contribute to a greener environment.
Additionally, the implementation of these technologies will result in cost savings for households and businesses and generate new employment opportunities, boosting the local economy. Furthermore, EESL and RISL will conduct awareness campaigns and educational programs through the eMitra network to inform the public about the benefits of energy efficiency and sustainable practices, fostering an environmentally conscious community.
Speaking on the significance of the agreement, EESL CEO Shri Vishal Kapoor said, “We are excited to partner with RISL to bring our energy-efficient solutions closer to the people of Rajasthan. By leveraging RISL’s extensive e-Mitra network, we aim to make it easier for consumers to access and adopt sustainable technologies that will not only reduce their energy costs but also contribute to a cleaner environment. We believe that by working together with state governments and leveraging digital platforms, we can accelerate the adoption of energy-efficient appliances and create a more sustainable future for all.”
Shri Rameshwar Lal Solanki, Technical Director, DOIT&C, Government of Rajasthan, stated that e-Mitra has a strong legacy of supporting its partners through its extensive network of over 80,000 e-Mitra kiosks. In its previous collaboration with EESL, e-Mitra facilitated the sale of approximately 80 lakh LED bulbs, valued at around Rs 57 crores. With EESL now offering a range of more energy-efficient products, this new partnership is expected to add significant value for all stakeholders. The collaboration will enable citizens to access EESL’s top energy-efficient products at the best possible prices with ease at their doorstep.
This agreement marks a significant step towards creating a sustainable and energy- efficient Rajasthan, paving the way for future collaborations and innovations aimed at enhancing public welfare.
